               CALIFORNIA LEADERSHIP ACADEMY 2010
 

 Dave Kuhns will be returning to Southern California this summer to present three Workshops for Student Leaders at Chapman University in the city of Orange.
  The support that teachers and their student leaders have shown is a tribute to the effective work that Dave, and his summer partner Greg Solomon, have done over the past 21 years. Robert Hahn will again give two special auxiliary unit leader sessions at each camp. Directors tell us that our unique approach to band leadership training has really helped their programs. They say their leadership teams have returned to school anxious to get the band started on the right track and that their kids have developed the leadership chops to get the job done effectively! We’ve set the standard for other camps to emulate.

Our Tuition Fees Include:
           COMMUTER FEE:  $195 (Includes 4 Meals)
 $100 Deposit* with App. - Balance of $95 due at Registration
           RESIDENT FEE:    $265 (Includes Housing and All Meals)
 $165 Deposit* with App. - Balance of $100 due at Registration

PLEASE NOTE the times for registration of dormitory (resident) students (2:30 PM) and commuting students (3:15 PM) on the workshop schedule. Registration will be held in the lobby of Beckman Hall on the Chapman University campus located on the corner of Glassell and University. Workshop participants must bring the completed and signed MEDICAL and PERMISSION FORM to registration. All fees must be paid in full at that time.


DORM STUDENTS are required to complete registration at Beckman Hall before checking into their rooms. Bring a sleeping bag (or sheets and blankets, size: twin), a pillow, and towel in addition to normal personal items and clothing. You may also want to bring an alarm clock. A radio (with ear-phones) is also permitted.
 Your car will remain parked for the duration of the workshop. Please take time to read and discuss the academy and dormitory rules and regulations with your parents.


COMMUTING STUDENTS who drive to campus may park in the Orange Parking Lot at no charge.  Parents may drop off and pick up students in the Orange Parking Lot, next to Beckman Hall. Please be aware of the class schedule for start and dismissal times.


EVERYONE must wear tennis shoes (not flip-flops) for the outdoor sessions. Sun block, appropriate head gear, and water bottles are recommended for these sessions.  Dress during the entire workshop is casual... It’s summer!!! Students will be required to turn cell phones off during both indoor and outside class sessions.  Drum Majors and Color Guard members will not need equipment at this camp.
